Over the last years, there has been a rapid increase in popularity in the use of three-layer jerry cans for edible oil packaging. This is especially true throughout countries in Southeast Asia where the two main producers of palm oil, Indonesia and Malaysia, are located. Their popularity is due to considerable costs savings that result from adding a layer of Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) between two HDPE layers without compromising the jerry can’s quality and most importantly, its strength.

Year by year, customers reach out to Chen Way Machinery for being a renowned blow molding machine manufacturer. This time, a leading multinational edible oil producer located in Myanmar -which is also the largest edible oil packing plant in the country- decided to go for Chen Way’s blow molding machines to expand their edible oil packaging plant in Yangon, Myanmar. The manufacturer’s plant has been running and producing 18L jerry cans for some years already with 6 of our Co-extrusion Blow Molding machines. “Changing between the molds for different sizes of jerry can is easy with Chen Way machines,” said the plant manager, which is another reason they chose our machines for a recent addition of 3 more sets to their plant.

As these additional sets of jerry can making machines needed to be installed and start running while still in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, with several travel restrictions in place, and even with the revolution taking place in Myanmar, Chen Way’s team worked hard to provide the necessary assistance for installation and service through video calls, illustrated installation manuals, and other materials so that the setting up of the machines could be completed, and the customer could start production as scheduled.
